WhiteLoop

We were responsible for the production of the 3D-printed slide WhiteLoop, created as the second installment of the “Architecture for Children” project at the Kiyoharu Art Colony, a cultural and artistic facility located in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture.
The design was led by VUILD, with structural engineering by Arup.

This piece features a continuous curved surface inspired by the form of a Möbius strip. The geometry itself functions as a self-supporting structure.

To realize this complex freeform shape, we utilized our large-scale 3D printer and digital fabrication technology to achieve high-precision and efficient production.
The structure was divided into parts, printed separately, and then joined and assembled on-site—entirely by manual labor.

Leveraging the design freedom and constructability offered by 3D printing, this project transcends the conventional boundaries between design, structure, and fabrication.
It serves as a proof-of-concept for the application of complex geometries in architectural components.
